Re: Digging up Trachys - how much root?

Dug up quite a few trachys now and has been said no tap root and try to get a good amount of root but not to much that you can't move the things this is one in this post to give you an idea of what the roots were like. The palm has shown no problems since moving.http://www.hardytropicals.co.uk/forum...

Re: Fatsia Polycarpa Giant Form

Not heard of it, though it makes sense to be more than one variety of F.polycarpa. F.japonica has 'giant' leaf varieties like Moseri after all. http://www.tuckermarshplants.co.uk/prod ... .php?id=92 50cm leaves does sound intriguing as F.polycarpa is probably my favourite plant. Are you thinking of...

Re: Fatsia Polycarpa Giant Form

I am going to get one off him with a few other things in the new year. I think it will be the same as Crug farms plain Fatsia Polycarpa as I have seen a couple of mature ones with large leaves. I have lots of seedlings from one of their Polycarpas in 9cm pots so when I get one from Mark I will be ab...

I think one of the best shady borders I have seen on here is in Simbas garden. Planted with lots of hardy evergreens looks great and is hassle free.http://www.hardytropicals.co.uk/forum/v ... &start=495

Re: Which red leaved cannas can be grown from seed?

I just wondered if anyone knew which red (or burgundy etc...) leaved cannas can be grown from seed? I believe 'Bronze Scarlet' is one but very keen to grow some to offset all the green in the garden, but like to grow from seed as have good success rate, plus the guarantee of virus free. I grew Bron...

Re: FARFUGIUM JAPONICUM 'GIGANTEA' ?

Grows well for me,the only problem I have is slugs love to eat the new growth in spring before they even get chance to get started. The slugs in my garden seem to much more prefer Farfugium than they do my Hostas.
