Chad , i scrape through the layers of the stem on one side and apply root hormone. The sphag moss is soaked in a weak liquid seaweed and squeezed. There's other methods of wounding as you know, like cutting a wedge for example but as the plant is outside, i didn't want to reduce the structural stren...

Is Calidora similar? Calidora is one of the better alocasia to grow imo . Brisbanensis is a joy , gets big quick and produces loads of pups. I've air layered the side shoots on my Scheffie quite a few times over the years but this one is by far the biggest at over 4ft wide. I started it earlier in the season last year. By the end of october / early september i detached the air layer and potted it up into a 3ltr pot. Wasn't expecting much...

So my question is, how can you tell which one is which or whether I have in fact bought two of the same plants thinking they were different. There was and probably still is , a lot of misselling of australis / cooperi. Same with people selling Brownii even though they're cooperi. As for distinquish...
