I thought that you liked the heat?

Or has it passed gone to high?

We have had a couple of hours of heavy rain this evening, which will be good for the garden and my lawn.

Heatwave

Hi Tom,

I am good thanks.

I hope that everything is okay with you.

Thanks for the outlook. As long as the weather doesn't go the same as it did in late July last year I will be happy.

Cheers

Adam

Agave.....almost in flower

Great flower spike.

Agave montana are tough plants.

I have had one in a pot for 6 or 7 years and the only protection it gets in the winter is when I drag it down the side of the house under my lean to. Last winter was a cold one as well.

Re: Winter 2017-18 losses

My potted T rex and Begonia palmatum are both dead. I had to cut my Euphorbia pasteurii to the ground due to mechanical damage caused by the snow. My Trillium chloropetalum var. giganteum never showed this year, I am not sure if it is dead or it just couldn't be bothered growing because it was so co...

Re: Summer past

Your garden looks great Charlie.

Whilst you say it is a "mish mash" of styles it blends well together :)

Re: How much room do new bamboo culms need?

Cut it in half and cut out the 'dead' middle.

I have had to 'core' one or two of my Miscanthus as they have done effectively the same.

That's almost 2 out of 3 times right.
otorongo is correct, they have essentially doubled their accuracy, which is pretty good going.

Re: Today's acquisition ........

Great looking bamboo.

I wonder if it is Fargesia rufa?

I have one in my garden and it is a great performer. It isn't an upright bamboo, but doesn't flop either, rather it creates loads of volume up top and increases in volume.
