[media][media]Hi I've just re-joined Hardy Tropicals - mainly to get some help in getting my Nelumbo Komarovii and Nucifera to flower. I grow them in trugs in a south facing greenhouse (I live in Leicester,UK). I get lots of aerial leaves but no flowers. The RHS suggested they were not getting enoug...

Puya in flower
This is the Puya Alpestris I asked questions about its watering a few weeks ago. As a result, I brought it into the conservatory - out of the heavy rain - and it is now flowering.

Hi Mick The round plant is a Dyckia Brevifolia, a relative of the pineapple. It produces a tall yellow-flower spike and masses of offsets - also grows easily from seed. A strimmer works fine around the rocks, apart from a few tufts between them - which I limit by weedkilling large gaps in them.

I created this succulent bed in our front lawn - well away from where grandchildren play - last year. Most plants come indoors or into a cold greenhouse in the winter.

Not me in Moseley. I'm near Leiceser. I do have a fair number of tropicals, succulents and a few cacti.
My 'hotlips' - which I think is a kalanchoe thrysifoliaisone of several, some quite large, as the photo.They do flower well.

Puya watering
I have a Puya Alpestris, putting up a 40 cm flower spike
- no flowers yet, but I am hopefull. It is outside in a 6" pot. Should I water it much?- I water weekly at the moment
