Yes Dave ... It's been a while. Your Washingtonia is looking great. I'd imagine a new crown of leaves formed quickly in the next season. I should try one again sometime. Never had too much luck with them. Sabal palmetto and S minor are more of a focus for me know.

So that's where all the rain went. All along the Pacific coast of North America dought is extensive. Here in the Pacific Northwest we're about 40% short on normal rainfall. One of the driest winters in many many years.

I'm on a half acre and I'd wager the back portion would be about ¼ acre.

Re: I'm done with this year :-(
Interesting ... by contrast over my way, there's been little if any rain since June (13 weeks). Endless days of sun and warmth. Today (Oct.07) we max'd out at 81.9°F / 27.7°C. I removed my AC unit for the season yesterday and won't need it again this year. Looks like us west coast Canadians are gonn...

Severe drought and no end in sight. Forest fire rating is extreme and has been so for quite some time. Bear and cougar sitings are posted around town as they source food.

The pic in the original post is quite dated. The motel is no longer Palm Motel, it's now Fireside Inn on the corner of Broadway (640 Broadway) and N.Mildred in King City, Ca.
