i have for the last 2 years now,, i keep it in a pot as its a tiddler. it only really grows about a leaf a year for me, i dont really think we get it hot enough here to get substantial growth out of them. good luck with it tho if you take the plunge! :)

i have three which go outside in summer and come inside in the winter, they grow relatively ok in our summers outside but if you try to maximise their growth by putting them in the sun expect them to burn quite badly as mine do every year and then spend the whole summer growing out of the damage :ro...

chamaerops can be very VERY variable so this could just be one of the many variations you can find, didnt dave have a trachycarpus that had 360 degree leaves, this looks like the same thing but for a chamaerops, just a suggestion. :)

im half english and half malaysian so seeing the plants from there makes me want to grow them here and i like growing unusual plants, plus who can resist thhe thought of palm fronds gently blowing in the wind in ur garden! :DD

still got my caryota himalaya outside, it had ice on its fronds last week after -2degrees, no burn at all which was surprising :shock:

what was your minimum temp for last winter then nathan? ive got a baby hedescepe and wouldnt plant it out where i live obviously but to know it can survive is promising :DD
