High Nitrogen Feeding

Hi
I'm aware that Aroids and banana's respond well to regular high nitrogen feeding and was wondering whether this is also the case for Tetrapanax and Paulownia?
Your opinions and advice are appreciated
Thank you

Tetrapanax help!

Thank you Chad. I'm amazed at how much like a child this plant feels to me haha. Went out today to inspect, edges of the leaf on the most affected leaf are starting to curl now, but other than that no change. I did however find a little caterpillar on the leaf with the holes in it (so that at least ...

Tetrapanax help!

Relax. I agree with Jim that over or under watering could do it, but if it is now planted in a big container that has drainage then all should correct. At least until it outgrows the raised bed. Epsom salts are fine as long as they are very dilute and would correct Magnesium deficiency. It is usuall...

Tetrapanax help!

Well I have just been out for a more thorough inspection - I don't think it is over or underwatered, I put a hand down to the roots and the soil was felt about right, not home dry and just a little moist to the touch. I gave it a big drink when I planted it at Easter and it has only had a little rai...

Whilst i would not dare to dispute anything with one as learned as Chad. i would not discount fungal or pest attack have you checked the undersides of leaf for any pests like red spider or aphid or similar.i also would not discount overwatering or indeed underwatering but only you can answer this.

What do you mean by real soil? There is nowhere else it can go in the garden other than that raised bed - if I took out some of the compost and replaced with topsoil would that help? Thank you

Tetrapanax help!

That looks physiological rather than a pest or disease.

Is it magnesium deficiency that hits in between veins?

Whatever, get it planted out into 'real' soil and it will correct itself.

Chad.

Tetrapanax help!

Photo still hasn't been approved - but this morning the brown patches are bigger and another of the leaves has started to get the faded patches 😳
Should I give it some feed? I'll try to submit another photo. Thank you.

Tetrapanax help!

Hi all, thanks for your replies - the growing tip is fine (I think) it's just on one of the new leaves there are these thin, faded patches that have now gone light brown in the middle. All other leaves look fine - I just wasn't sure if it was damage or a disease that could spread. I'll take a photo ...
