Re: Just been out to inspect the garden.

I go in to the garden every day rain or shine to determine what needs to be changed/repaired/replaced, then I go back in doors to find something less to do :?
Why put off until tomorrow, what you can put off until it's warmer I say

Re: Monitor

Using a 50" tv as your computer screen would take a bit of getting used to, it feels like you need two hands to control the mouse as the cursor is HUGE!
I prefer external speakers for computer work, on board ones are a bit 'tinny', but if it's just about space saving.....

Re: Best potting mix with these ingredients ....

I don't tend to use garden soil in a potting mix, it tends to compact and goes 'sour'. I also don't weigh the ratios. I mix roughly a bucket of home made compost with a bucket of mpc, use a peat free type if you're minted or value the environment...I'm not and I do, but I'm not minted! I mix this wi...

Re: Monitor

If you are off line for a few weeks, I doubt you'll miss much this time of year. A few discussions about the weather and the like  Monitor, crt or tft? Have encountered numerous problems with tft adapters rather than vga or dvi cables. If crt then it's definitely time for a new monitor icon_th...

Re: Daily Express takes its global warming theorum up a leve

It's probably been mentioned before, but if you build houses on a rivers flood plain, every now and then it will flood. The clue is in the name

Re: storm to hit more southern areas: 14/02/2014-15/02/2014)

Blimey, my garden looks like a teenagers bedroom! My eldest daughter came in just after midnight, imitating the corpse bride and muttering about the weather. Not had that sort of combination of wind and rain in a long while. Have no idea the strength nor volume of either as the weather station is no...

There's a bit of a draught coming from the south east, but that's about it wind wise here. There is however, an excess of moisture

Mr Daily Express
No need for this to degenerate into a bun fight. An expression of differing views and the interpretation of any info gleaned from various sources is what makes our weather so interesting.

It's about time we had the collection of piccies. How come it took so long, has it taken nearly two months to get that grin off of your face?

Re: Harts fern tongue bitten to pieces

Not sure, but that looks like damage prior to the full expansion of the frond(or leaf as not a divided type). As it reaches maturity the damage would look worse.

Re: First snow of the year - Manchester

A nice, clear, still night. Temps about 7c but dropping. Just getting ready for the sou'westerlies to kick in again and bring yet more wind and rain. Still, better than the old white stuff
