Re: Musa ensete ventricosum seeds.

Here they are now, although they have had a good battering from the wind.. They have gone a little black at the bottom, perhaps from too much water or this crazy weather...Cold then hot and the cold again.

Re: Kohwoz's new land and garden progress. Start 2010.

Here is another update, a long time coming. The weather hasn't been great at all this summer, so i kind of lost the feel of gardening, although i plodded along. A few weeks really hot and then really cold, windy and rainy all of june parts of july and then last week over 33 deg C for a week and now ...

Re: Kohwoz's new land and garden progress. Start 2010.

Its really coming along nicely now. A great transformation. WIll you be adding some summer colour? Cheers Chris. At the moment I'm just trying to get the basic groundwork in and then when I'm living there, hopefully around October time i will definitely add some summer colour for the summer of 2013...

Re: Kohwoz's new land and garden progress. Start 2010.

Looking very nice! I like the bold rock rocks and the raised bed! When those palms grow its going to look awesome!! If they survive. Lost 4 fortunei over the winter. The problem was that it was -17 and a little more for over 2 weeks, no snow and the air was dry. They were all good up until the end ...

Re: Washingtonia robusta

I separated lots of multi stem robustas, and they are all going strong. I just hosed the soil off the rootballs and then untangled the mass of interlocked root system. It is a easy and cheaper way in my opinion to get a single robusta. Although from seed they are also very quick growers. Single stem...

Re: Kohwoz's new land and garden progress. Start 2010.

Hi Kohwoz, forget about the vegetable beds...I think the back side of your new house is just beautiful, so much light and if it is facing S or SW is also ideal for overwintering tender plants(I would do that if the house was mine... or just die trying fighting the wife for that :DD  ). I could...

Re: Kohwoz's new land and garden progress. Start 2010.

Here are some more updates on the house and garden. The house is slowly getting somewhere now, but the garden's coming along a little slower than anticipated. With all the terrible weather we've being having lately. Started on another bed, which will probably be the area for lots of Bananas as it ge...

Re: Kohwoz's new land and garden progress. Start 2010.

Hi Kohwoz, but I definitely have an issue with the 4 raised beds.... they look to me like something else... icon_scratch . i like those curve border lines and i think there is to much contrast with the 4 parallelepipedic raised beds. it is just an opinion no offence intended. What do they look like...
