Re: Canna showing growth

My Musifolia is in a large pot and hasn't been watered for a while. I chopped old stems at the end of last year. Looking at the rhizome, I can see a few new buds waiting to shoot, should I start watering? Can put them in airing cupboard to encourage them to shoot. Also have a dry bare root Hedychium...

As you are already posting, then I'm pretty sure that you are a member!!!! There are however restriction on new members for a time due to the risk of unwanted spam (not cold meats!!) and anti nuisance. Dave Brown is the guy to contact if you are able, he'll sort you out!

Re: Yucca Rostrata problem?

Thanks for your replies, much appreciated. After giving the stem a good 'squeeze' today, it seems very solid, with just the outer part a bit soggy and wet. Weather forecast for the South East tomorrow is rain, rain and more rain! So I've surrounded the bottom half of the stem in clear plastic lids f...

Yucca Rostrata problem?

Following all the rain recently, I've noticed a darkened patch on the stem of my Yucca Rostrata. it is right at the base close to the 'foot' It also feels damp and a bit spongy when pressed. The stem is approx 3 foot in height and planted into a border with palms. The rest of the stem including the ...

Re: One for Fern Rob

As Steph said, loads and loads of Dicksonia A, of varying sizes. Also massive Gunnera for £20 a pot, smaller ones at £10 a pot. Friend said that there were a good few Musa Basjoo, around 4-5 foot in height, with leaves £36. Hoping to go myself in the near future.

Re: One for Fern Rob

Not sure on the trunk size on that Tom as photos can be deceiving. Just know from my friend that it is a big fern. How big was the one you got?
