Hello
I have just bought loads of straw and will use that. When very bad weather strikes the tree will come into my garage. Thanks for your advice Tom

Cheers

Hello anyone looked at the forecast for the next 5 days? Wow summer is finally here in England. 24c and sunny, sounds good to me. Today was very nice too in my garden. 22c and not a drop of wind. Going to get outside as much as possible now before winter hits. Sunday is looking great too. icon_thumr...

Hello Adrian
they look great, but it looks like finding them to buy will be very hard indeed. What a shame as they would sell really well.

Re: Is 100gsm fleece too much for winter protection?

I have googled it and Ebayed it and tried Amazon and other shops and only things I can find are the low rise long tunnel cloche style things. Nothing tall and pop up which would go over palms etc.

Re: Is 100gsm fleece too much for winter protection?

Hello
never heard of pop up fleece tubes before or seen them. They do sound good. Where can you buy them from? Just looked on Ebay who normally have everything and they do not have them.

Re: Is 100gsm fleece too much for winter protection?

My fleece bags never froze once, maybe because they were on pots and high up and in the breeze and water drained off, through easily. Using fleece off a roll will be a first time for me. I so hope this winter is not as bad as last.

Musa Basjoo in pots with pups over winter care?

Hello I have 2 pots with Musa Basjoo in them which are now about as tall as me 5 foot 7, lol. They also have a couple of pups each which are about 2 foot tall which I have left in the pots. I am thinking of putting them in my garage over winter and they are potted up with the 50/50 mix thing, perlit...

Re: Dicksonia Antarctica/tree fern winter protection plans

Re: Is 100gsm fleece too much for winter protection?

Hello you do not want the fleece too thick as plants need air and water and light to survive. I bought a 100 meter roll of 30 thickness. Think what I will do is use my fleece jackets on my large palms which have cord strings to keep them in place( 30 thickness) and if really bad weather is forecast(...
