Re: cordy dazzlers going crazy

Hello
I used prune and seal on my Cordylines too as it keeps the wet out. As long as you cut back to live healthy hard wood sealing the trunk is fine. Glad yours are reshooting. My purple one has not reshooted as yet ;-(

Re: Quite impressed with these solar lights! only £12!

Hello nice solar lights there. I bought some from Argos and you can have them normal white colour or flick a switch and they change colour. They last all night long. They are bright and very good indeed. I bought a pack of 8 2 years ago and liked them so much bought 8 more this year. The ones from 2...

Re: Does anyone actually sit and relax?

Hello I have not sat down and relaxed in my garden as yet. When I go out there I always see things to do. Things to trim up, things to tidy up etc. I find gardening relaxing though in itself. If I go and sit down , after 2-3 minutes I notice something that needs doing and go and do it, lol. Have peo...

Re: Smelly cordyline australis in Berkshire.

Hello my Cordyline out back last year got a smelly trunk and all leaves fell off and the trunk went mushy and orange puss was coming out of it. We cut the trunk right to the ground as it was soft and mushy all the way down it. I thought it was 100% dead for sure. But it reshooted this year from the ...

Re: Wooden Trough for bamboo?

Hello I have decided to plant the trough up with other things, but will still buy a bamboo and plant it up in a large pot and stand it in my back south facing border where it can make as much mess as it wants, lol. I have a section in my back border that needs filling in. It will look great there, C...

Re: Wooden Trough for bamboo?

Hello I think if you put clumping types in the wood should be ok. Non invasive types. The spreading invasive types can break clay pots etc after a few years. I ended up buyng a wooden trough which was 150cm by 40cm wide and 50cm tall. I do not know whether to put bamboo in it or not now. May put pho...

Wooden Trough for bamboo?

Hello I am going to buy a large wooden trough to plant some bamboo in. 140cm by 40cm by 40cm( hoping to order this size). Should I line the trough with anything such as black plastic or binbag to help stop the wood rotting? Or is that not needed? Would bamboo be ok in such a trough? http://cgi.ebay....
