Thanks mate for the info/pics looking forward to going this morning. Will definitely grab a Gunnera and some grasses. Have a list of plants that I'll buy if I see them, otherwise it's pretty dangerous!!!

... of decent larger specimens. Not too much in the way of tree ferns, decent selection of ground ferns, and some good sized cannas for £6 a go. Gunnera selection was impressive, some really large clumps - although as often seems to be the way some small/short leaves which don't seem to match ...

Either something has taken a bite or the leaf was damaged when it was emerging. It does not disfigure it too much. Some of mine end up like sieves after caterpillars get to them.

... while you're there I'd be most grateful!!!! They are very reasonable, with plenty of little treasures. Hoping to pick up one of their larger Gunnera Manicata, amongst a few other bits!!

... slopes towards the house and it also slopes across the garden from right to left - I wonder if I am just wasting my time! I have planted out a gunnera nearby as I have the space for it. At the moment it's tiny.

Mr List - the Gunnera is standing there by itself. I did have to remove one HUGE leaf from the front of the border (and I took a week to pluck up the courage). But as it is planted on a north facing border it stretches tall to peer ...

Great planting.

I'm yet to do my Spring tidy although everything is now unwrapped. It'll get done at the back end of March when I pot up canna and dahlia.

how come the gunnera doesn't stretch forward and swamp the smaller plants?

Well we have lost all sound here and they are talking about cannas, gingers, dahlias and gunnera's by the look of it!!
Waited all winter for it and no sound!!
