Mine was showing similar symptoms to yours and guessing it was down to some sort of fungal attack, I decided to spray with a systemic fungicide.
The one I used was Fungus Fighter from Bayer and it worked a treat. The old spotting could not of course be cured but the new leaves are perfectly fine.

Re: Some questions regarding Yuccas
I hadn't considered that slugs would find the leaves very tasty. There's quite a large population of these and snails too in my garden. I don't use slug pellets anymore as I think they're very cruel as well as potentially harming other wildlife. These days I just gather as many as I can find in the ...

Some questions regarding Yuccas
I know that there are several experts on here with regard to Yuccas, so hopefully I'll get some answers to my questions. :) Does anybody know if the purpurea form of Yucca aloifolia is hardy enough to be planted out in my part of the UK? (West Lancs) It's just so different to the green form that it'...

Re: New stock at Amulree
I bought one of those 'purpurea' Yuccas locally, they seem to be everywhere. I suppose they're aloifolia though they don't resemble the green form very much.
I'm a bit chicken about planting it out cos I just can't see those somewhat fleshy leaves being very frost tolerant.

Basjoo Problem, Advice Sought
Lasy year I planted a Basjoo in my south facing back garden. I add that I've never grown one of these before. When the weather started turning cold, I encased it with barley straw held in place with chicken wire. Finally I put a plastic cloche on top to hopefully keep the worst of the wet out. I dis...

Re: £60 - German VS UK waggie?!
Got to agree with Nige, those German ones definitely look somewhat stretched. The UK one looks far stockier and more pleasing to the eye.

Re: global warming...nah
Cheer up Si, surely we won't get a late autumn/early winter like that again for a very long time. :!: I know exactly how you feel though as winters here in north west England are usually fairly mild. I was taken aback by its severity and particularly by its early onslaught. I could hardly beleive it...

Re: Trachycarpus Latisectus
This species for me is way down the list of Trachycarpus hardiness.
I planted one out last year but it got hit badly in November despite a great deal of protection. I took the decision to dig it out and stuck it in my cold conservatory. It's not made that much of a recovery however.

Re: Trachycarpus Spear Pull - How do I protect?
Perhaps the easiest way to keep the wet out would be to place a mini palstic greenhouse over the top. This would also be beneficial by increasing the temp around it and hopefully force it into making new growth. I recently bought one of these in Wilkos where they're only £12 at the moment. An altern...

Re: Pots
I too have found it impossible to source such pots in this country. James over at Europalms in Belgium has a good selection and is a really nice guy to deal with. Just a couple of weeks ago I received a consignment from him. I had ordered a hundred but because of a supply problem he sent me 130 whic...
