Has anyone considered / have knowledge of the root systems of Phoenix Canariensis?

One of the the things that worries me about planting mine in the ground is how far the roots spread and what damage they might do to nearby walls / the house etc.

I was surprised how many huge phoenix c's there were growing in people's tiny front gardens in Leytonstone in East London. Trunks starting to form. And there's a tree sized one in front of Hackney town hall of course.

Phoenix canariensis grow out to their full span before they start to 'go up', so the one in Pimlico has reached that, so will now go skywards icon_thumright I think it was originally planted in a pot on the roundabout, which may have stunted it a bit too...

... must have been trippin' right? It depends where the person lived... Phoenix canariensis will only grow literally right on the coast, even on the south coast. In 2010 specimens ...
