Chamaerops humilis help!

After advice from anyone. I have five Champerops in the garden and all seem to have been blighted by black/brown spots. Some really badly. I've had someone suggest this could be a fungus brought on by the cold damp weather in spring. Is this correct and is there any way to prevent it any further? Wo...

CHAMAEROPS HUMILIS var MACROCARPA

... this one or grow it? no doubt it looks just the same as the normal CHAMAEROPS HUMILIS. Can't find much info on the net apart from simons description: "CHAMAEROPS HUMILIS var MACROCARPA A very ancient variety of the European fan palm first described in 1882 and has fallen out of favour. This ...

Where to buy a mature Chamaerops humilis

Hi All,

I'm in the market for a mature Chamaerops humilis (poss cerifera), at least 1m of trunk (maybe 1.5m). Anybody got any good places to purchase from (good also equals nicely priced). I don't want to go overboard on price but want a good sized tree..

Cheers
Ben

European bison released into the wild in Germany.

Germany has since April 2013 a wild herd of European bisons in the Rothaar Mountains. Those majestic animals get more and more reintroduced in their former range! The Rothaar Mountains are certainly not a primeval forest, far from that. Its also ...

Potted Chamaerops root trimming Q

I've noticed my big Chammie Arborescens in its 160ltr pot has roots trailing out of the drainage holes.

Will it be ok to trim these off? its on the patio right now as we move in a few months so im drying to keep the pot dryer as its blooming heavy.

Chamaerops tidy up

After seeing pics of Amulree's stand at the Hampton Court Flower show, I remarked on the well groomed appearance of the large Chamaerops in the display. It put mine to shame so decided it needed a tidy  This evening after work, I decided to tackle the unkept trunk 2013-07-26 17-13-20 ...

Chammy Cerifera, Butia Capitata and Brahea Armata

I need some advice please. These three palms have only been planted out for a year but looks like I'm going to have to dig them up and pot them for a short while before planting in the ground again. I'm not sure how these will cope as I've never dug and potted one up before. I'm thinking the Chammy ...
