Sickly Aloe
This Aloe is in a pot buried in the ground and gets removed to the greenhouse during the winter. On the very few ocassions it's been watered I use rainwater. Over the years it's turned from healthy green to scorched brown as if dieing. Any idea what the problem could be ?

ALOE STRIATULA - Pruning and Propagation
Hi All Those of you with A. Striatula...do you find like me that they have a very sprawling, leggy habit. I have a large specimen in my front garden where the branches run at ground level and then curve upwards- each branch being around 1.2 metres. This means that the centre of the plant is pretty b...

Aloe variegata
I picked up one of these from a garden centre on Monday, just out of random want. Having researched this, many sources, (Dave's Garden, independent succulent websites, etc), suggest it is frost hardy to -6C, and if kept dry potential hardier lower than this. I wondered if any members have had any ex...

... and helpful owner. Prices did not seem unreasonable. Came away with a Parajubea torallyi, nearly 180cm tall excluding the pot, and also an aloe polyphylla (I already have a largish one but I want to try one outside and don't want to risk the one I have) http://www.athelasplants.co.uk/index.ph ...

Aloe Plicatilis in flower
Despite being heavily neglected and then seriously abused by disrespectful builders, my Aloe Plicatilis is about to flower again. It spends the summer outside and comes in for the winter. It's not looking great this year but I'm hoping it will quickly outgrow the damaged ...

Naturalised Aloe's
Thought I would share some pictures of a very large group of naturalised Aloe arborescens in our local village in Portugal. I loved the way they were growing through the old wooden posts and using the structure for support. The aloe's are situated on the roadside ...

Aloe ciliaris
I bought this Aloe as striatula - but it's not - I've been told it's Aloe ciliaris (the climbing aloe). It's not exactly climbing, I think I must have one that's scared of heights, so it lies down and creeps along the floor instead.
Quite pretty flowers though: Pete
