Personally I think donations should be anonymous.

I don't like to talk about my charity work

FEE-O-NIX like the bird.

I say BA-ZHOO with a silent S and a soft J.

It's even more of a problem to write fernetically (sp?)

You have to spell things right before you can pronounce them right. The most common spelling I have seen, which I believe to be correct is fontunei which would be FORTUNE-EYE but if people spell it fortuneii as grub did, they will pronounce it FORTUN-EE-EYE.

Well Ade, I got way with it last last year with the Maurellii so I hope so. Although from what I gather, the ventricosum doesn't have much chance of making it anyway.

It's hard to say what the secret is as these were new planting areas this this year. Nothing has ever grown there before but grass. Everything has done really well. My basjoos have 'pups' with four foot psuedostems that didn't even exist when the plants went in the ground. One thing I can say is tha...

Dave your plant is completely different. Very dark pseudostem and and midribs. Also a quite stocky plant. Mine has a tall but very slender pseudostem.

Thanks Don, I actually bought that this spring at Urban Jungle when we all met up. It was only a small plant. I was really suprised at its rate of growth. You can see it in this pic from early in the season, just behind the Canna Australia. The Maurellii to the right is a second year plant which was...

Hi Gaz, I cut mine down to the last 3, as you see in the pic. Although I had to shorten them to get them in the garage. I think it is best to leave something on there, space permitting.

The Ensetes are out.

Well, I dug my Ensetes up at the weekend and stowed them away in my garage. I thought I would post a pic of the final size of the ventricosum. http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i32/sijack/IMG_0004.jpg when I dug the ventricosum out I broke a piece of the corm off. I was wandering if this would affec...

Hi Guys. As you can see I have stuck with my usual name and avatar to avoid any confusion.

It's a bit confusing over here as so many of you have different user names but I think I know who's who.

Good to know we can all still keep in touch.
