Oddly this year saw me lose a Trachycarpus :shock: . A small 3rd year Naini Tal looks like it never made it sat in the greenhouse with Manipur, Princeps blue form and 100 second year Fortunei seedlings all of which appear completely untouched. ...

If you want two completely different looking Trachies, grow T. fortunei, one in full sun and another in full shade. You will probably get an intermediate form in part shade

The trachies do get yellow and brown leaflet tips if allowed to get dry, and also as the leaves ... lose moisture and the tip turn brown again. See the yellowing on the lower leaves of my Trachycarpus. This was made worse by the drought of 2005/6 060508 Blue sky.jpg Fatsia may ...

... had winds of 54mph with gusts to 62mph here. Not much plant damage, but Trachies looking pretty trashed. Cassy Cordy was was rocking in the ground. I moved the cars just in case she came down. Main problem is the Trachycarpus leaves crashing into the seed branches has knocked 1000s of them ...
