Morocco and Chamaerops humilis var. argentea :)
... 7 days and I’m staying in a place called Agadir, going to hire a car for 4-5 days so I can go up into the Atlas Mountains. Can anyone tell me if cerifera is in that part of Morocco? I would love to see them growing in the wild, there could be some free seeds in it for you! icon_thumleft Also ...

My first palm, a £4.99 Chamaerops H
I've read here that they can be quite cheap so I don't expect it's the bargain of the century, but I'm well chuffed with it anyway. It was quite rootbound and bursting out of it's pot in Homebase so they knocked a couple of quid off for me. It's 60cm high from soil to tip. It's my first actual palm ...

Unusual Chamaerops humilis from Asda
... Asda as I felt it was very different from my others, what do you think? It has 360 degree leaves and unusually large dark brown spines for a small Chamaerops a lot larger than my other humilis spines. http://i45.servimg.com/u/f45/12/65/11/86/dscn2322.jpg http://i45.servimg.com/u/f45/12/65/11/86/dscn2323.jpg ...

Chamaerops Cerifera comes into flower + extras
It's the one I got this year from Palm Centre and it's come into flower, it must be healthy and liking the heatwave. :) http://oi47.tinypic.com/28r0b3n.jpg And there is a new non-stretched Trachycarpus to accompany the Leggycarpus Fortunei, 2 Musa Basjoo and a £40 Dicksonia Antarctica from B and Q w...

How fast-growing are Chammy humilis? I'm torn between two sizes (both smallish) and wondered if the smaller size would catch up the larger quickly.

Garden Update 13/4/12 - Trex+Chamaerops Cerifera
Hi all, just planted my first tropical plants today, a Trachycarpus Fortunei and a Chamaerops Humilis. The Humilis looks great but the Trachycarpus looks like it has adapted to shady conditions at the nursery and this has made the petioles extra long. The petioles ...

Chamaerops Cerifera - Latest addition
Came home from work today to find a very nice Cerifera sat in my back garden. Ordered it from the Palm centre bout a month ago but they`ve been waiting for new stock. It`s actually a tad larger than i was expecting having a clear 500mm of trunk so i`m made up with it.

Is this Chamaerops damaged beyond repair?
Hi I planted 2 chammies in a garden in July/August last year .... they are fairly small .... (approx 800mm high) I left them unprotected for most of the winter (Cambridge), and for the 2 nights we had the -16 degrees C temperatures, I draped a horticultural fleece over them .... so, bar the 2 nights...
