Rotten Phoenix canariensis

Can anyone help by telling me if my Phoenix canariensis will again grow, it has rotted quiet badly and i spear pulled the centre to reveal a big hole. I have depotted the plant and the roots do seem bad! Id add photos but not worked out how to do it yet!

Finally planted my other Phoenix in the ground last Sunday and re-designed the dry bed adding an Astelia and Beschornia amongst the Yucca's and Bromeliads.
