Musa basjoo vs Musa Sikkimennsis.

... protection i.e , tubes & vented tops, the basjoo i've had to cut down slightly but its now firm & pushing out signs of green, the basjoo sikkimennsis has also been cut down to same height but is soft & mushy? does this mean its a lost cause?. karl.

I wanted to store these two plants in the hallway but, Although they have the draught when I go in and out the front door they are sprouting. I don't know if they need cutting down, then putting in the dark or what. If they were growing ok I would leave them but they have brown areas too. I don't kn...

Musa sikkimensis hardiness

Has anyone’s sikkimensis survived last winter without any protection! It’s highly unlikely the p-stem would survive a winter like that but has the corm survived?

Cheers,
Tony

Getting mixed reports about these and how best to protect?

Are they root hardy? I'd love to keep the stem height.
