Just been looking for this mystery plant on that video on the colocasia topic and stumbled across this picutre of 2 alocasia's planted in the madagascar river. Truly amazing and also shows it is possibly to use these as a bog plant.

Just come across this variety on the internet and what a stunner with its silvery grey colour on its undersides of the leafs. I love it and it grows to a nice size by the looks of it.

My Alocasia Frydek
My frydek is doing really well the first leaf measures 10cm, second leaf 13.5 cms and the third leaf is measuring at 17cm's. it seems that every time it grows a new one it adds and exta 3-4 cms so i am guessing my next leaf will be a round 20-21cm long.

My Alocasia macrorrhiza has woken again and this time it seems to be sending roots out of the rhizome from the top right the way down to the bottom is this normal?

Does anyone remove lower leafs from there Alocasia calidora?
Just been thinking comparing my alocasia calidora to Dave B's and noticed that mine has all lower smaller leafs a round the base yet daves doesn't. Does anyone else remove there lower leafs? if so why?

I think my Alocasia x calidora has produced a pup?
Looking at my alocasia today and noticed what looks like a pup on the side of my calidora, it has the same base as the base on my main stem. and is different to all the other stem bases that are just plain green.
But can they actually produce pups as i don't know myself?
