Yucca Elephantipes.
We have had one of these indoors for about 4 years now and have seen virtually no growth in height. The trunk is only about 8 inches high and total height about 3ft. we had the same plant a few years ago that grew through the ceiling, we cut it back and it died :( . I've noticed on the end of the tr...

Re: My Washy that i purchased from Home Base has yellow spot
A bit off topic i know but the Trachi's and Butia Esthopathie i have put in the ground all within the last month have some degree of yellowing. All the new spears emerging are a nice healthy lime green colour. I've now decided i'm only watering and palmboosting whats in the ground, and will not feed...

Is it to late in the season to buy bannana plants, to keep in pots?. Also what are the most hardy variety. I read somewhere that when they die off you slide a piece of downpipe over the stem? karl.

Trimming fortunei back.
One of my fortunei palms in the ground, has a couple of fronds facing downwoods. There are wind damaged but still green. I still have plenty of fresh fronds above. As these 2 are well below the centre spear is it ok to trim off as the tree will look a lot more balanced and healthier. karl.

Because i wont have enough space indoors for everything in the winter i've just bit the bullet and sunk it into the ground. Loads of grit, manure, booster etc. If i fleece it this wint...

Re: waggies from George imported?
I have recieved one of georges wags this morning and already have it repotted and palmboosted. I'm not saying this for brownie points but its the best specimen i've seen anywhere. These home grown ones from devon almost look like a different species to the imported ones. There on a winner with these...

Re: Yucca Rostrata Damage
My Yucca Rostrata looks as though it has just about pulled through this Winter. There was frost damage to the side of the trunk and had to pull the leaves off as it was quite soggy. Luckily frost/rot never penetrated to the centre as I now have new leaves growing, but what I'm wondering, because th...
