I know they are fairly common but phoenix roebelenii seem tolerant to just about any conditions and they are good value as well.

Hi have one which goes outside in a shady spot during summer, then back in the conservatory for winter. :)

I have two, one in a north facing porch (brought in if near freezing outside) the other in the greenhouse.
I will put both outside in mid May but in shade as they can easily suffer sun scorch. Both are kept damp throughout the winter.

I keep mine indoors and in a south facing window.It likes a drink. dont we all :) and flowers yearly.

Buy one, keep it wet...they like to have wet roots and keep it inside, in the house overwinter.
Mine is looking good after 3 years, bad news is its too heavy for us to shift out of the living room.........

Looks like a phoenix roebelenii to me Jacko. You would have to bring indoors for the winter, but can be outside during summer months. Caution with direct sunlight though as leaves can be badly scorched :D
