i think it still looks good with the first one gone,you can see the Trachycarpus now. mustnt ignore these trees,they keep you going when the rest looks cack

By the way the palm in the pot is not a Kentia, it's a Parlour Palm (Chamaedorea elegans)...
either way,shouldnt it be indoors? i thought they were houseplants

i bought one from koba koba,it took nigel 0.01 nanoseconds to decide it werent real.boy did i feel a right tit,dont now though because it is so apparent im not alone :oops: :DD :DD

Edo,easy way to tell is chamaerops have small thorns on the stems,even noticable on small ones,trachys are smooth

ive learnt something today aswell,i never realised about the folds before

i wouldnt bother either,went through the hassle of doing it last year and the roots are pushing it out of the new tub already,its going in the ground april so i dont waste time/money again.those huge black tubs dont come cheap and dont offer the root protection a large Phoenix canariensis_CIDP needs...

ive been growing these a few years now and come mid october,i cut most of the leaves off and put them in the garage. wont get them out now until mid april,ive only lost one so far this way,once the first new leaf pops out,they are off again just like year before.the ones in the polytunnel rotted off...

cathy,try sniffing in the dark,the difference is unbelievable. ive been reading about them and nowhere does it say its a night thing but this definately does not hardly smell,if at all in the morning. pic is borrowed from somewhere but the same plant ive decided to get me some now as it will be easi...

quick note spezzo,i think it was adrian posted on a different thread to keep your ball of fleece in place for a while yet. i went out and put all mine back in that night and hey presto! we have a frost this morning.crunchy as cornflakes out there. lush looking garden you have,given me some big ideas...
