i put just under a capful in a watering can,think i measured it to be 10 ml so not full is close. nigel once showed me how to knock up a mix for bare rooted yuccas and sloshed it in from a 5 gal drum.double the strength for bare rooted stuff was the recommendation.how much pb in a long slosh? :lol: ...

i walked past the same house this morning,not a hint of any scent,this is so odd as at night it is almost overpowering but in a real nice way.a good nose round the shrubs didnt prove anything for me either.i will take a torch tomorrow and have another look and sniff,just hope the woman dont think iv...

night time scent

anyone got any ideas what might be giving of a really nice strong perfumed scent on a night time.every night i walk past the same house and just recently noticed this smell coming from someones garden.i tried to pinpoint it tonight but couldnt see a lot.it doesnt smell at all in the morning?? probab...

i continally fed mine last year,first of all with tree fern feed which i found extremely expensive compared to a box of chempak no2 which has the same ingredients,i think nitrogen is the key element for for better leaves/fronds.the difference was amazing,also keeping trunks wet as opposed to just fi...

i have come to the conclusion that a major factor in re-rooting these is keeping them still. i hadnt had much luck in the past but last year i firmly staked all the trunks so they couldnt move about and the results are beyond my greatest expectations.

i had a very poorly one here but the whole middle came out last week dripping light brown yucky stuff off it.could have put my arm down the hole up to my elbow.took it to the tip sunday :sad: i think it had probably been rotting for ages,before winter even came but kept it as the outer leaves looked...

im not allowed bbq's as much as i love food cooked on them. deb has a thing about meat not being cooked properly and although i could go it alone and smoke myself some sozzers, its never worth the grief after :(

i spent most of the day cutting and chucking.much tidier now.1st tip load gone,1 more should do it providing we get a few hours after work this week.shame i cant have a compost heap but we got rats in it last time,now the misses wont have one

i like it aswell pete,its so thick in the crown it cant blow about much.its only a bog standard tf from nigel but has its own unique characteristic. will be in the ground in spring all being well too

ok,i managed to get in to see my yuccas and smaller butias today.in amongst them is this happy chappy,hardly any petioles tho,at most 6 inches.
