hi my gunnera has started to wilt a bit and was wondering if its still ok to give it a good watering this late in the season or just enough to keep it going till frosted

I recently bought a large Gunnera Manicata and have put it into the ground. When should i expect movement/growth? My Rheum is already pushing on and there is also slight movement on the Darmera Peltata. Thanks, neil.

i'm wanting to plant my gunnera in the lawn will i need to give it a root barrier? or are they pretty sedate away from water? oh wait i probably have a load of water a few feet down.
