How to prepare soil for a potted Yucca gloriosa
I'm getting one as a gift for someone and we are planning to keep it potted for a few years then eventually planting it out(if it survives). What should I fill the pot with, I read on this website that multi-purpose compost would be a bad idea for arid plants so what should I use? Levington sell Cac...

Yucca gloriosa Variegata
Hay hay.
I have a Yucca gloriosa Variegata that flowered last year. My question is how long will it be before it branches and grows again. It's been in the ground four years and is a nice size, didn't want it to flower but hay ho. I can't see any new growth though....where will it branch from?

I realise when first planted out they need good preparation, but there after is rainfall enough for them , as i know not many yuccas lik...

Bare Rooted Yucca Rostrata....Yes or No?
Hi, I've looked at the website recommended by Ste and others (tropicalcentre), and noticed that their bare root rostrata's are cheaper than the rooted versions.....and also heard that rostratas and yuccas in general dont like alot of root disturbance. So, if you were looking to buy one, would you go...

Yucca rostrata damage
My rostrata went through dec 2010 in the unheated greenhouse totally unscathed yet this winter, despite it being 7c warmer and in the same greenhouse it has suffered rot damage and last years growth has come out of the growing point. I opened the door when it was mild as i did last winter. Any idea ...

Planting in ground mix for Yucca Rostrata.
My rostrata is far to big for a pot & i dont really want to repot as i'll never lift the thing!!.At the moment its got very little soil in the pot as its mainly agricultural grit. I know there notorious for root disturbance but it needs to go in ground. It will be on a gravel bed but what is the...

The woman who owns the dog had a yucca gloriosa variegata in her garden and said to my mum last year that she hated it and wanted it gone. It was forgotton about until yesterday. Since ...

Phormium and Yucca Gloriosa this morning!
Hi, Noticed this morning after last nights frost which got down to -4.5 here that my Variegated Phormium and Variegated Yucca Gloriosa have a slightly floppy appearance to them and a hint of blackness! I've not bothered with any protection on them as I didnt think they needed it. Should ...
