I've kept a dwarf cavendish alive planted in the garden with only gravel as a mulch. ... a month at best before it turns to mush. It's not a Dwarf Cav then Roger. They do not recover from dormancy at all :roll: ...

Not all dwarf cavs fruit a 8ft plus p-stem in their first year,some fruit at 5ft to 6ft. Indoors ... SDCs will fruit at 5ft or more, especially in lower light conditions (considering Cav's usually grows outside in the tropics). You can get dwarf cav to fruit in the UK or ...

Scott, you're probably seeing some photos of 'Super Dwarf Cav' which fruits at 3 or 4 ft of pseudo stem whereas yours should fruit at about 8ft, so it's probably ...

Scott, you're probably seeing some photos of 'Super Dwarf Cav' which fruits at 3 or 4 ft of pseudo stem whereas yours should fruit at about 8ft, so it's probably got a few years yet in this climate, unfortunately.

I kept a dwarf cav for a good few years overwintere in my conserbatory at a min of 10C which was fine but one year it must have got a bit colder as the main stem rotted and I was left with a pot of pups that I lost interest in.
