A new variegated bamboo?????
... to leaf. it is a young plant and the green grooves are just developing so maybe if it keeps its variegation it would turn in to a really striking bamboo. I have read on google that variegation sometimes pops up in bamboos quite unexpectedly but if I could stabilise the variegation you might find ...

Check on your bamboo! had to water mine today
Bar my Fergesia Robusta Campbell hedge which has quite a decent banana leaf mulch around the bases, pretty much all my other bamboos, pot grown and in the ground were bone dry, no rain for weeks and the leaves has all thinned (desiccated?) like a drought. After a water they had plumped up by sunset....

Ive got a few of these in 18ltr pots outside against a South west facing wall with only a mulch of tree leaves across the pots surface for protection. Will they need more protection than this ? I was hoping they would be ok until -12c ish, what do you think, cheers.

Bamboo ID for this beauty
Can anyone Id this bamboo please.
As you can see from the picture it's an enormous clump.
I cleverly waited until some unwilling volunteers passed by so you could get an idea of size.
It's probably the healthiest looking bamboo I have ever seen and it was taken mid december 2012
