Bamboo how does it behave when it hits a wall/barrier?
What does Fergesia bamboo do when it hits a wall/barrier
Will it still try and force a culm up against it, or focus its growth on the other x3 sides where it can continue to expand?
My Fergasia campbell hedge has rocketed and already touching the wall

Worried about my Palm trees being speared by a Vivax Bamboo!
After a post in the q and a section an important issue was raised I think worthy of going in the main section... I have a Vivax bamboo with the furthest new culm only about 3ft away from a Trachycarpus. It is south of the Trachycarpus so It won't be taking away any sunlight. But after ...

Can bamboo runners harm other plants?
I have ferns and a Trachycarpus quite close to a Vivax bamboo, I'm just wondering is there any way that the bamboo's runners could badly do damage to them?
Sorry if it seems like a dumb question but I have been wondering what the effects could be of bamboo runners going past Palms.

Will Bamboo push through weed suppressor?
I ask because most of my garden is covered with weed suppressor then a layer of slate chippings. Would Vivax and Nigra bamboo be able to push through this or do I need to clear out the area where I want them to spread?
