Strelizia nicolai is pretty tough taking as low as-6C in California. It is the warm days that allow it to handle it. I haven't had -6C since 2001, but don't get the warm days so mine has to be inside. Musa Dwarf cav will not like down to freezing even if warm days.

Musa truly tiny,musa tom thumb,musa little prince aren't they the same nana the next size down from super dwarf cav,i think i remember Gabe15 mention it on Bananas.org.Looks great though

... became a problem. I naturally water less as things cool down, even Dwarf and Super Dwarf Cav can take some dryness in winter, but not the Siam. As soon as it starts to dry out it wilts ...

it was believed to be a superdwarf that i grew for 18 months in my lounge and dining rooms.was only a homebase cheapy ... Looks like you had a musa truly tiny,its the next size down from super dwarf cav,its a shame you lost it, while its not a rare plant,its rare to see it in the UK.

Only just seen this Mush, I lost all of mine in the conservatory as well The winter appears to have just been too long for them. I ended up with 2 struggling but both gave up in May when you would have expected them to take off

... as well,unless you have the space its unrealistic to get fruit.Super dwarf cav is the one you want if its fruit your after the plant will not get taller than six feet ...

This nana which is a sport of dwarf cav stayed OK until April 2010,i then lost the p-stem but it has sent up 5 pups since then.
