The Fargesias that I planted last year are also shooting like crazy.

To be fair he's finaly got rid of it all and burnt all the box! Must be quite sad for him Agreed, he said that he planted them out 15 years ago and my eldest will be 15 years old this summer and to have to get rid of something that you have cared and nurtured for for that long must be difficult. I ...

Runners are well behaved up here.
If anything it is the Fargesia that do really well and keep expanding a little bit too much.

Re: Who's enjoying the current mild frost/dry spell?
It's pouring down with rain here
The forecast is for it dry up later though, but wondering around garden centres in the rain isn't much fun and I won't be able to do much digging to the bit out the front that I have cleared.
Oh well.

The weather remains unsettled up here and it will be a while before we start to enjoy the more favourable weather.
Winters up here in the north are longer and can be brutal at times, contrary to what some people may say

At 12.45pm I was driving down from the train station to pick up my eldest and the sky went darker and darker and then we had hail followed by some snow.
Just looking out the window again and I see that it is hailing again.
Typical March weather really.
