The Thrush, The Sparrowhawk, the Cycad, and the swallow

Post by Dave Brown »

Wow, a Thrush and a Sparrowhawk just crashed into my lounge window. Terrific bang, the Sparrowhawk has flown off. the Thrush is sheltering under my Cycad  It has recovered a bit in the 20 mins or so and is now standing up, and looking around. Both have been frequent visitors to my garden over the last few days.

Ahhh poor thing :( We have the odd bird fly into our patio window now and then, but they always seem to recover fast. One morning, there was also the imprint of an own on the window! He must have recovered and flown off though, as he was not to be seen. We do hear them now and then on those late, Summer nights.

Thanks, take care

Pete

If that Thrush don't fly off soon dave he will be cat fodder. We gat the odd Pidgeon fly into the patio doors and leave a dusty imprint on the outside of them.

This Bird was on my neighbours chimney the other week. I know what I think it looks like but I am sure its probably not

Whilst working out in the garden this afternoon our summer resident Mallard re-appeared from his winter jaunt. Flew across my garden and landed on my house roof :) Its always so strange to see them up there, just doesn't feel right. He was looking for his Mrs I think, hopefully she'll be back soon. I believe they spend a lot of the summer in the garden 4 houses down the close, its lovely to see them flying around in the summer evenings, and sat on the house roof quacking away.

So where do ducks go in the winter ?

Just because we don't know what kind of bird it is, Gary, there's no need to start naming it already!

A girl at work returned to her car one morning to find someone had done a large poo on top of the roof, and left a little bit of toilet paper stuck in it.

So not only had they climbed on her car they had gone armed with bg roll for the very purpose. She ended up with dents in her roof, but never did find the poo fiend.
