Was thinking of replacing this dead Trachycarpus today. Pic 1 is from March, Pic 2 now.
It seems like a dead leaf has grown and and new leaf also looking a bit damaged on tips but green is emerging?
So should I wait, how many leaf could I expect this year from this plant ?
Trachycarpus - replace or wait
Re: Trachycarpus - replace or wait
If it is indeed growing then I'd leave it, give it a good feed & keep well watered during the summer & it could push out 1 or 2 leaves by the autumn...
If however it is looking an eyesore (if a specimen plant in a lawn for example) then I would dig it up (carefully) & keep it potted to recover & plant a new one as Trachycarpus's are cheap enough...

Personally, I'd remove any of the dead fronds. If it's pushing new growth a fungicide won't hurt, but I doubt it will help much at this point.
I've heard it's been very dry over in England so keep the thing watered.
Cheers, Barrie.

Re: Trachycarpus - replace or wait
being a Trachycarpus i might give it a nitrogen boost.not advisable for palms due to the soft growth it produces but any green out the top will speed up its recovery and seeing how hardy trachies are normally, the new growth might just survive next winter

Thanks. Will see how it does in 2 weeks. Will keep watered and add some feed.
