Going crazy buying/Growing Palms
Going crazy buying/Growing Palms
I've added a few more small palms to my collection....Thought I would show you guys. I bought 1 Blaue Zwerg Chamaerops Humilis plus 2 seedlings. 2 small waggies and one a little bit bigger. 5 Blaue Hesperidea Brahea Armata. Plus i've got 36 washingtonia Filifera seedlings, 13 Robusta seedlings and around 20 seperated Robusta's. All seem to be doing well after sulking for a couple of weeks...
Think i need to calm down on buying more Palms, although i just ordered 1 170cm Robusta and another Waggie...
Think i will concentrate on finding some good Black Bamboo next for the bottom of the garden.

Very nice looking young plants.
Is that a nice beige carpet I see?
You're a brave man if it is.

I'm not only pushing the boundaries of growing exotics in the UK, I'm pushing the boundaries of space.
Great palm collection! It's addictive isn't it?

Re: Going crazy buying/Growing Palms
Dave ... Banana Joe is still on Salt Spring Island and has not moved.
Mike in Montreal is an internet contact as best as I know it.
They may collaborate on some exchanges and info.
Speaking of "down the road", I'll be heading over to Salt Spring for the PNW Palm Society garden tour in June.
Cheeers, Barrie.

Re: Going crazy buying/Growing Palms
To be honest Dave.. I have the bug now. Like i probably mentioned before, we have bought some new land for our new house. Over 1800sqm. I've now decided to build my own private little palm nursery and see how i get on. Will keep some of the palms and sell the rest perhaps on ebay etc.
