Well done Bob! icon_salut

Here you go Kris, 59 & 1/2" or 1511.3 mm.

Pics arent great as I had difficulty getting over the top of it but you should be able to see enough of the tape.

i think those deeply lobed 'proper' rex ones seem to have the biggest leaves.

i will go measure mine soon but i think the 'rex' sold at easy tropicals (and any others which are not deeply lobed) are actually the steroidal giant clone.

Total respect due Bob. icon_salut icon_salut

You have grown an awesome plant Bob. Not only is it huge, but it has great form. On mine each new leaf has not got bigger. Instead all new leaves max out at 90 ish cm. icon_scratch

Perhaps yours isn't 'Rex' Kris and is just the standard Paprifer.

I think it is Rex because it survived last winter without losing the growing point. I don't think standard Paprifer is as hardy.

It's not all good news on my plant Kris. I've noticed the growing point has slowed down drastically in the last few weeks, which would seem to be a little early in the season.

A couple of flash pics from tonight:

I've not seen it flower before, maybe thats the case. :?:

like i said earlier i think you have steroidal giant not rex.
yours look similar to mine kris and not al all like bob and davebs which have a completely different looking leaf.

i think my 'rex' has reached about the most each leaf will get to as they all seem to be ending up about the same size.
not measured but i think about 1m.

edit
i would like to add (maybe out of spite  ) that bob is not employing a particularly accurate measuring system.

the leaf should be pulled flat and measure from furthest point to furthest point.
leaving the leaf curled and having the measure swiggle all over the leaf must add loads of length.
like measuring your knob from the bottom not the top icon_thumleft :DD

Bob, The smaller malformed leaves means it is going to flower, so you won't get any more leaves this year. The flowers are similar to Fatsia.

I did a vidjo of mine but it is too big to upload, so will have to put on You tube.
Best regards

It will make no difference if you pull the leaf flat, apart for risking snapping the lobes. I use a cloth tape measure to avoid damaging the leaf
