Cheers guys and gals... The Trachycarpus F in the pic was great value, shoulda been £75 at Morrisons but know somebody who works their so got 10% off, only £67.50
Re: Pics from a newbie
My Morrisons never stock such tropicals.
I still have a maple I bought from there about 10 years ago for less than a fiver..
Yours must be more hypermarket Morrisons than supermarket Morrisons Kev.
Its beautiful your Trachi anyway.

Welcome Kev ! Nice selection to start with .... best of luck house hunting and finding the perfect place to plant those beauties
Re: Pics from a newbie
New plants and re-arranged...
Chuffed to have 6 pups coming from the Basjoo. Yucca Filamentosa, small Dicksonia antarctica (1ft trunk) and a couple Festuca Glauca blue grasses ordered today to.
On a seperate note, does anyone know how worried I should be about the black spot on my Chammie ? (see pic). You can see it on the close up of the leaf and although its on a number of leaves that is one of the 2 bad ones. The plant itself is the Chammie in the big white pot and is otherwise seemingly healthy-still showing good growth, strong petioles and has recently gone from a light to deep green.

Whats gone on with the brown spots?
I also meant to say I love the Maple. Mine have defoliated this year.

Cheers Kata...
As for the black spot, as mentioned above the pics - i'm hoping someone can tell me. The soil is good, not drenched, drains well but without drying out, is fed with Palmcentre Palm feed with the exact dosage/regularity advised. Thing is, other the black spot it seems to be extremely healthy-growthwise/colour/strength etc...

My new Trachicarpus f has some brown spotting,
Maybe wind and rain spotting but I don't know Kev.
They'll get new leaves next season, hope winter is not too cruel.

Im quite taken with that little orange flowered thing in the last lot of pics - what is it? I think that shade of orange is my favourite flower colour...

Yes Sean,
They are nice and vibrant, don't know myself but Kev hopefully will know.
Not taking a pop at anyone in particular, this happens on a lot of forums, some people forget we don't always know the Images they bring......no names.
For me the difficulties are not knowing palms except Trachicarpus f and Cycas. I like to know the names of mine when I bring them, flowers included.
I have a few plants that their name evades me till they actually come into flower. I had tiny corms that look like they have a bud they have grown into tall soft leaves, I planted Kinoplas (name) Lucifers, Cana white Lillies, Its a waiting game. As they flower I will ask on the forum what they are.
