To be honest I know next to nothing myself.Except its supposed to be a good candidate for a fruiting banana in the UK.Although I've found out since ordering it that D Orinoco or D Brazilian would have been a better choice. As Ice cream doesn't like our cool damp weather. But its a nice looking plant, and I'm well pleased with it.So here it is
Sadly it didn't come with a flake,or sauce for that matter

BL@@Dy 'ELL Steve ,
When you said a bit bigger than you thought I was thinking around it being a foot tall rather than 6 inches, not an 8 footer.
Nice slim looking banana through, but you may need a second story on your greenhouse.

Definatly
I've just searched it and came up with this site,
http://www.centralfloridafarms.com/banana-icecream.htm
looks like it gets a little bit bigger than Sikkimensis. But I think its unlikely to reach this size in the UK.If it does I'll have to get a bigger greenhouse

interesting Steve,
I'm not sure if I am reading that correctly, but they seem to be saying it fruits in one season if planted early enough, from a second year corm, and that it dies back in their winter. This seems to suggest that if you cut it to 6 feet to over winter, in warmth, you may get a flower the second season. Getting the fruit to ripen is another matter though.
