Hello
not been very hot here( Great Yarmouth). Been nice and sunny, but it never seems to get hotter than about 20c or 21c. Waiting for hotter temps so I can put my Quick up Pool up, lol

This is the best spell of weather we've had down here in months. The last bit of warm weather was a one day affair (last weekend), the previous weeks and months have involved cool weather, wind and showers.

Very happy with the last few days, little wind, blue skies and pleasantly warm temperatures. My Musa's in particular have responded very well. Been a while since I spent so much time watering the beds.

A scorcher? I consider anything above 35°C a "scorcher".

18°C - 22°C ~ pleasantly cool.

23°C - 27°C ~ comfortable

28°C - 32°C ~ A good start to warm.

33°C - 35°C ~ warm.

36°C - 37° ~ nice and warm (hot)

38°C (100°F) or warmer, a "scorcher"

Cheers, Barrie.

But Barrie, most on this topic are from UK Midlands northward. It isn't a scorcher to me at 24.6C, but a very pleasant temperature to work in the garden. We had what I would call a scorcher last Monday, 32.8C with high humidity. It was the warmest UK temp since 2006 :ahhh!: , followed by a spectacular light display cold front on Tuesday

Cornwall must be vary variable in terms of rainfall. My father moved to Perran Downs near Penzance 2 years ago, and apart for the last couple of weeks has been complaining about lack of rain this year, as well as frost and snow last year. Apparently people in the village have been moaning about the amount of time spent watering. He said "If I'd wanted to water the garden all day, I'd have stayed in Gravesend, I didn't expect it in Cornwall"

BBQ while watching Wimbledon, Then watered and fed the plants.

25C currently! the sun is the strongest Ive ever felt it in the UK, what makes it even more remarkable is that it is hazy sunshine.

NASA did warn people in NW Europe that the hole in the ozone layer over the area would have major implication of sun safety.

I wouldn't be surprised if the UV record was broken today.
