Just been taking a few close ups and thought i'd share them...a lot of hover flies, wasps and butterflies around today and they love the orange flowers (as you can see).

Excuse my obvious ignorance - but what's a macro pic - Is it a big picture or a small part of of something?

Sorry, I can't help not having much between my ears - my green fingers make up for my lack of grey matter.

It's commonly called butterfly lavender, lovely fragrance in the warm weather... A macro is a function on most cameras and some camera phones that allows you to take a photo of something/part of something very close up and the subject in the shot shows up very clear and sharp and in high detail, also shows the colours very accurately.

A macro photo is a photo setting in which you get higher definition as you get closer to the object you are photographing.

Usually if you take a photo on automatic settings, the photo will blue, but Macro allows you to take a highly defined photo at close range.
