Nick is the only source in The RHS Plant Finder.

As Simon says, this is still rare and is unlikely to ever be in a supermarket.

The similar 'Hercules' isn't listed by anyone yet!

Chad.

Nice one Gareth icon_thumright and proving to be as hardy as the standard one.

The coloured ones Sainsbury's sell are the small varieties, and I'm not sure about their hardiness.
Best regards

That's a shame Martin :( are they outside? if so, it may be the lack of summer and them being quite small.
Best regards

The leaves will die off over winter and new ones produced from the rhizome in spring. I usually bring my Black one into the garage with no light over winter.

Just normal sized Calas from both Si,

They were very tall though if tall is what your after, from Homebase anyway.

I am just waiting on a part being delivered to get my stuff off the old machine, all my Images are on there or I could have shown you how tall the yellows were.

Hoping to get to Pan Global Plants next week, so will have a look for that one. Love the brugmansia too. I grew a couple from seed this year (Datura arborea) and they're just beginning to flower, so I'm quite pleased with that. I'll try and over-winter one in the porch, so I'll be further ahead next year hopefully! icon_sunny

I got it from Pan Global in Gloucestershire in May 2009 as a small plant and it has been planted in the ground on the north side of the fence since August 2009. It seems to grow quickest when the weather is warm/mild and damp, but not hot. During this August it was putting a new leaf out each week.

Codfather - I had mine in a pot for the first few months of 2009 while I did my garden and found it hardly did anything. I think it was because I couldn't keep up with the feeding and watering it needs - I believe some people plant them as a marginal plants which gives you an idea of how much water they need.

I've seen Hercules listed on ebay a few times recently, which looks the same, but I don't know whether it's the same plant??
