i think i gave this ensete too much water too quick the growing tip went black i was going to bin it today but cut it off to see inside it. its got a few 6 inch new white roots and still feels firm at the base icon_scratch

I wouldn't bin it yet.

Don't water it but give it15c+ and plenty of light and wait to see if it moves.

It may take a while if it's been damaged but roots are a good sign.

You should be fine .... we have 5+ Ensete's in the house, just dug up from the garden and 'plopped' in any old pots and left in a back bedroom with reasonable light and weekly watering .... sometimes wet, sometimes dry out ... but they are tougher than they look ... all have been happily (albeit slowly) chucking out new leaves .... we only lost one, but that was due to the fact that we didnt bring them inside till after xmas and it was doomed before we even dug it up .....

As ever, plants have a remarkable will to live ... if you have the space, give her a chance .... and you'll be pleasantly surprised methinks ! :wink:
