Re: paulownia
They're always very late into leaf - early to mid May from what I remember. Maybe a bit earlier with stooled shoots.
Re: paulownia
oh thats good .I thought it was dead
Re: paulownia
Our's is covered in flower-buds, any idea when we might find out if they made it through the winter ?
Re: paulownia
The flowers open before the leaves, usually in April. I'd think they should have survived fine in Exmouth.
Re: paulownia
No problems here in Southampton?
The big one in St Denys is just starting to flower.
Unfortunately its such a big tree that due to complaints from our neighbours we will have to cut it back after the flowers have finished.
I will cut it back to a single 8 foot trunk then its big leaves and no flowers from now on.

Re: paulownia
Mine started flowering in November, it was so mild. Plenty of buds left for the spring though. I think I will have to cut mine down soon too.

We have one at work and that had a small flowering session in autumn too! Got some tiny buds forming on my little (10ltr) pot grown one. Nige
Re: paulownia
Mine are full of flower buds about to open for the third year running despite low temperatures in each of the winters.
Every three years I stool the plant to give the display over to BIG leaves, so this year I'll cut back after flowering.
