Lucien, didn't Nigel say that Palmbooster required some warmth :?: I'm not sure how much benefit you will get this late in the year. I think the plants need to be in active growth and this gives them a boost.

I think Steve has the answer, Palmbooster and heatmat

Let us know how it gets on

I used it back in June just before the summer prematurely ended
Best regards

Its in the poly tunnel, which is regularly hitting 25C+ each day.

The nana's are all still growing, which is an issue for Hinibi and 'Montbeliardii' as they're both breaking the leaves as they hit the top of the tunnel.

Just realised I haven't given any palmbooster to the sick one - doh.

Oh, and another place that sells PalmBooster is Total Eden @ Budleigh Salterton. Quite handy for me :)

I hear that Mark is actually contemplating raising his polytunnel

I normally go for more hardy types of plant as they get stuck in the unheated covered courtyard, and many things just get shoved under shrubs in cold weather. My Fred and Barney Trachies together with a Phylostachys aurea make a three sided covered frost free area, ideal for marginal plants in all but the coldest weather.

I'm not trimming my Washingtonia this autumn as I normally do. This will give quite decent shelter to smaller marginal plants.
