Yes but restarting it in spring will be a problem.

Like Kris has said probably too cold, if you have loft space… then yes you can.

Lift before frosts. Remove most of the soil from the roots cut all the leaves back with a Sharp knife and then tilt to dry. Cover roots with green sulphur and POP in your loft of other similar dry frost free place. I tried my garage a couple of winters ago and it was too cold.
Most wanted list - Any Young Trachycarpus and/or fern.

I kept mine in an unheated garage with no light last year and both came through ok using Kris`s dig up and store dry method. The garage is attached to the house so stays frost free though.

How wud i over winter in a pot? Im going to heat the greenhouse to 5 degrees, will it be ok as is in there? My lasiocarpa was overwintered in there last year unheated, all the leaves died back so I cut them off, and it started growing again in April and it looks great this year! :D

If you can keep it from getting to cold it should just go dormant, just be very careful with any watering as its rot that will be the second killer next to cold.

Any one keeping them going over winter in the house? If so what conditions do they need. As I would like to try this year rather than dry them off icon_thumright .

I think house is rather warm but not enough light. I overwintered some smaller ones in the house last year, but under a growing lamp.
