Treat it like a cacti over winter. Also known as the Kris plant.

Re: Aldi Colcasia?
Not in the least cold tolerant, and is a jewel type Alocasia so should be treated as an Epiphyte.

Re: Aldi Alocasia Polly
I had one for a few years in the bathroom window and then the kitchen window. They flower quite regularly and sucker well. It was very easy to keep but a martyr to Red Spider Mite which is why I eventually let it go.
I don't think mine had those ruffles edges though. More narrow sagitate.

Post another picture when it does please Arlon, I'd like to see it as I'm considering one as a house plant being that they're cheap and easily available with a great leaf shape!
Re: Aldi Alocasia Polly
Two trains of thought come to mind
Arlon, you've done well, it must be happy for it to flower ....or
Blimey mate, you've only had it 5 minutes and it's so stressed it's trying to throw out some seed to protect itself from dying
