Nice collection going on there in tropical Cheshire. Will this snow and ice cause BQ to do their final clearance 75% off and small palms for a pound? Hope so :alien:

I didn't realise you'd dug out a Preston Trachycarpus Cordy?

Everything looks well and truly tucked in there.

Excellent video, watched it without sound and in HD.

What is the logic behind some Trachies being wrapped and not others?

The Loquat was like "-8c is that all you got"

Nice Trachycarpus's! I didn't realise you had so many. In a couple of years when they get some height, they're gonna look great!

I think there already all dead icon_scratch icon_scratch ! every pot was like a block of concrete and they'll be covered in snow now too  I was tempted by the chammy H at the front, was £24, half price £12, if they infact reduce to a £1 I may take a punt on a few of them  how long in a frozen pot till a Trachycarpus or chammy pops it?

Any trachys that are small and planted last summer i've stuck a fleece bag over while this snow/cold spell passes. Any planted in 2011 regardless of how small is staying unwrapped. Something John P mentioned on the protect Trachycarpus poll about small ones recently planted. "Where damage does creep in more readily is for small specimens that have not established themselves"

ps. its not Barry White all the way through ;)

rather fond of the old Trachycarpus Del icon_cheers My fav palm and the hardiest, a marriage made in heaven icon_thumleft

In the Spring i'm constantly pottering about wondered where I can squeeze another in, the hardest part is having to accept how wide they will eventually get and that spot probably isn't suitable, this results in more pottering trying to find another spot icon_scratch
