I think it's bisetti, I don't think Bamboos get bigger than this in the UK it must have been over 20feet tall.

Seen them bigger in cornwall.
Actually seen them about that size here up north, still impressive though.
Id be happy with that.

well my vivax is 30ft my nigra 24ft.heres a vivax pic from july last year.

How many years to get to that ?????

I am looking to plant some bamboo at the bottom of the garden to hide the fence etc....
AKA - Martin

Wish list - Big Palms or Dicksonia antarctica's but open to anything really.....Cash Waiting !

I planted a 1l pot bamboo 3 years ago and now it is about 8ft tall.

my vivax is in its 5th year now.but it was 30ft last year so 4 years to get to that height.

Vivax is quite impressive, mine is in its second year, last year the culms were about 5mm thick, the new shoots are about 15mm this year- looking forward to further growth very much! although the culms are coming up a fair way from the plant base. defo not a clumper

mines vivax aureocaulis, jacko's looks like plain vivax which i think is slightly fatter but i wanted the bright yellow striped canes

mines Phyllostachys vivax 'Huangwenzhu' a green one with yellow groove (sulcus).i also have aureocaulis vivax which is doing well too with fat culms but not as well as the huangwenzhu.
